Mavericks blank Beavers in twin bill

BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Bemidji State University softball team failed to get on the board in Sunday's doubleheader against Norther Sun Intercollegiate foe Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Mavericks blanked BSU with scores of 7-0 and 9-0 in the two game stretch.

For the day, the Beavers had nine hits while only committing two errors. Kaitlin Hill (Fr., IF, Dayton, Minn.) batted 2-3 (.667) during the first game while picking up an extra hit in the second game against the Mavericks. Erin Emanuel (Fr., IF, Esko, Minn.) pitched in two hits for the Beavers batting .400 on the day.

Courtney Anderson (So., RHP, Virginia, Minn.) started in the circle for the Beavers in the nightcap picking up five strikeouts. Anderson now has 80 on the season, with 32 of the 80 strike outs coming in the last five games.

BSU has a midweek doubleheader against Minnesota, Crookston on Wednesday at the BSU Softball Field, with the first game scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
