BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University softball team will now open its home schedule at 10 a.m. on Saturday with a doubleheader against Augustana College. Originally scheduled to begin at noon, the change comes after field conditions have forced Minnesota Duluth to relocate their weekend contests against Wayne State College and Augustana to Bemidji. Saturday’s UMD vs Wayne State doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. at the BSU Softball Field.

On Sunday, the Beavers will play Wayne State in a doubleheader at 10 a.m., which was originally scheduled for noon. Minnesota Duluth will then play its doubleheader against Augustana at 2 p.m.

Leading the Beavers at the plate this season is sophomore infielder Crystal Bowen (Duluth, Minn.) with a .304 batting average. Bowen has seven hits off 23 appearances with two doubles and one RBI. In the circle, junior right-hander Courtney Anderson (Virginia, Minn.) leads the pitching corps with a 3.99 era, collecting 55 strikeouts in 47.1 innings worth of work.
