TUCSON, Ariz. – The Bemidji State University softball team earned a split in its first day of competition at the Tucson Invitational. The Beavers knocked off Presentation College by score of 3-2 in eight innings, but fell to Aquinas College in game two of the day, 7-3.

Game 1 Recap: Despite the pair of one-run leads early on the Beavers, PC could not hold either lead as BSU went on to its third victory of the season.

The Saints were up by a 2-1 score in the top of the seventh inning when pinch hitter Courtney O’Connor came up and smacked her third home run of the season to knot the score at 1-1.

O’Connor’s round tripper forced extra innings for the second time this season for BSU. The Beavers produced the game-winning hit when Jaclyn Braiedy notched a single to plate the third and deciding run.

Angie Roberts and Jessica Yost led BSU’s offense in game one with three-for-four and two-for-three days at the plate, respectively.
