The Vikings used a one-hit shutout from pitcher Carley Pickett to take game one against the Beavers, 3-0. Pickett was near perfect in the game and held a no-hitter until Kelsey McAllister singled with one out in the seventh inning.

Jessica Yost pitched all six innings and earned her fifth loss (13-5) of the season after allowing two earned runs but also struck out nine.

After trailing for most of game two, the Beavers used a four-run, fifth inning to rally back and tie the Vikings before Augie rallied back with two runs in the sixth for the win.

The Vikings got off to a quick start to the game with two runs in the first and made it 4-0 over the Beavers with runs in the third and fourth inning. However, the Beavers climbed back into the game in thanks to a grand slam by Jessica Yost in the fifth to tie it.

But Augie bounced back in the sixth inning with two runs and Pickett came in relief to shutout the last inning for BSU to complete the sweep.

Yost was the lone Beaver with multiple hits in the game after going 2-for-4 with four RBI and Jenna Massingill fell to 6-5 on the season after pitching six innings and giving up four earned runs.

The Beavers will look to rebound against Wayne State College tomorrow for a doubleheaders beginning at noon in Wayne, Neb.
