BSU earns spot in NSIC Softball Tournament for first time since ‘08

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Bemidji State University softball team earned a spot into the 2016 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Softball Tournament for the first time since 2008, Monday. The Beavers (31-17, 14-11 NSIC) earned the eighth seed in the tournament after setting a program record in wins (31).

The tournament is hosted in Sioux Falls, S.D. at Sherman Park April 28-30 and BSU will face off with ninth seeded Northern State University Thursday at 10 a.m. The top ten teams in the final regular season standings will participate in the double-elimination tournament.

The NSIC Softball Tournament Champions will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Central Region Tournament played May 6-8, with the top two seeds in the region hosting. he NCAA Championships are set for May 18-21 at Regency Athletic Complex in Denver, Colorado as part of the NCAA Spring Sports Festival.
