WEST ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Bemidji State University softball team fell in two, one-run games to Minnesota State University, Moorhead Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at the WSP Dome in West St. Paul, Minn.

Bemidji State now falls to 2-6 on the season and have lost four games in-a-row.

Bemidji State totaled 10 hits in game one against MSU-Moorhead but four fielding errors by the Beavers led to a 6-5 loss. Bemidji State held a 4-3 lead after five innings but an error by BSU in the sixth allowed three runs to come in to steal the lead from the Beavers. BSU was led by junior Elaina Christiansen who went 2-for-4 at the plate with two home runs and three RBI while senior Sami Dullum recorded three hits in four at bats and came in to score one run.

Senior Stephi Dullum earned her first loss in the circle after pitching six innings and allowed six runs (three earned) off of eight hits and struck out eight batters.

Bemidji State once again totaled 10 hits in the game compared to just six for the Dragons but left 13 runners on base during the game. Junior Jennifer Smith led the Beavers by going 3-for-3 at the plate with double and RBI while Elaine Christiansen led the team with two RBI and went 1-for-4.

Redshirt freshman Kyla Damerow earned the loss in the circle and falls to 0-3 on the season after allowing three runs (one earned) off of four hits and had one strikeout.

The Beavers continue play at the WSP Dome tomorrow afternoon by facing No. 12 Winona State University for a doubleheader beginning at Noon.
