BSU Softball’s Stephi Dullum named NSIC Pitcher of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – After leading the Bemidji State Softball team to a 2-2 record at the Hy-Vee Classic in St. Joseph, Mo., this past weekend, senior pitcher Stephi Dullum has been tabbed as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week.

The senior went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA over the weekend to power the Beavers (4-10). Dullum allowed just one run, unearned, over 14 innings of work and held opponents to just a .191 batting average. The Harwood, N.D., native began the weekend by pitching a complete game shutout over Missouri Western State University. She then held No. 9 Rogers State University to just three hits and one run to help the Beavers upset the ninth-ranked Hillcats.

Dullum totaled 10 strikeouts over the weekend including six against the Hillcats and held Rogers State hitless through the game’s first five innings.

This is the second career NSIC accolade for the senior pitcher after she was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Week way back on March 26, 2018.

Dullum leads the team with a 4-1 record and is ninth in the NSIC with a 1.82 ERA this season.

Bemidji State will have the weekend off before beginning conference play Tuesday, March 30 with a doubleheader against University of Minnesota, Crookston in Bemidji.

Nestled in Northern Minnesota’s wooded region and located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, Bemidji State University sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men’s and women’s hockey membership in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
