Bemidji State Softball moves home opener to Monday in favor of better weather

BEMIDJI, Minn. – In hopes of more favorable weather, the Bemidji State University softball team has moved up its 2021 home opener to Monday, March 26 instead of Tuesday. The Beavers (4-10) will now host University of Minnesota, Crookston for a doubleheader beginning at 1 and 3 p.m., from the BSU Softball Field.

Bemidji State is coming off a 2-2 weekend at the Hy-Vee Classic in St. Joseph, Mo., where senior pitcher Stephi Dullum was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for her efforts.

Nestled in Northern Minnesota’s wooded region and located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, Bemidji State University sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men’s and women’s hockey membership in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
