BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University softball team continues its 10-game road trip this weekend and travels to Aberdeen, S.D., and Moorhead, Minn., to face Northern State University and Minnesota State University, Moorhead for a pair of doubleheaders. 

The Beavers (7-15, 3-5 NSIC) first face the Wolves from Northern State (12-8, 3-3 NSIC) Saturday, April 10 at Noon and 2 p.m., followed by the Dragons from MSU-Moorhead (4-18, 2-6 NSIC) Sunday at Noon and 2 p.m.

Bemidji State is looking to bounce back from being swept in its doubleheader at St. Cloud State University earlier this week on April 6. The Beavers are 11th in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference standings with a 3-5 league record (.375) and are one spot behind the Wolves in 10th place (.500) and one spot in front of 12th place MSU-Moorhead (.250).

Bemidji State has hit at a .231 clip as a team so far this season which is last in the NSIC while its pitching staff ranks 13th in the league with a 4.74 team ERA. The Beavers are 12th in the league with a .939 fielding percentage but have committed the third most errors in the conference at 38. 

The Beavers are led at the plate by senior Lisa Kossan who is batting .333 with 20 hits in 60 at bats. She leads the team in hits, runs scored (15), on-base percentage (.459) and hit by pitch (9) while ranking second in doubles (4) and third in RBI (9). She is followed by sophomore Emmarie Yeager who is batting .326 with 14 hits in 43 at bats. Yeager has totaled seven RBI this season for third on the team. Senior Lexi Derrick leads the team with 18 RBI and is batting .281 with 16 hits off of 57 at bats and paces the team with 30 total bases. Senior Sami Dullum trails Derrick with 27 total bases and is second on the team with 14 RBI while batting at a .274 clip.

Bemidji State’s pitching staff is led by senior Stephi Dullum who is 5-2 on the season and has compiled a 2.74 ERA in 53.2 innings while holding opponents to a .269 batting average. Dullum is tied for 13th in the NSIC with 57 strikeouts. She is followed by freshman Stella Dolan who has compiled a 1-2 record in 34 innings and has a 4.53 era to go along with 41 strikeouts. Redshirt freshman Kyla Damerow follows with 10 appearances and 35 innings pitched and is 1-7 on the season with a 7.00 era and 14 strikeouts.
