BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University softball team concludes its 2021 season this weekend and will host Minot State University and University of Mary for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheaders slated for Saturday, May 8 and Sunday, May 9.
The Beavers (10-28, 6-18 NSIC) will honor its five seniors in Sami Dullum, Lisa Kossan, Lexi Derrick, Gabi Bingham and Stephi Dullum in between their doubleheader with Minot State in part of Senior Day while Sunday’s doubleheader will be sponsored by StrikeOut Cancer in an effort to help raise funds and awareness to fight cancer.
The StrikeOut Cancer initiative is a program through the National Fastpitch Coaches Association to help raise funds and awareness to fight cancer. The program leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of fastpitch softball coaches nationwide to help increase cancer education and promote healthy living through awareness efforts and fundraising activities.
Saturday’s doubleheader against the Beavers from Minot State (19-19, 12-12 NSIC) is slated for Noon and 2 p.m., while Sunday’s first pitch against the Marauders (7-30, 6-18 NSIC) will also begin at Noon and 2 p.m.
The Beavers are currently tied for 12th in the NSIC standings with Mary and have been ruled out of a spot in the NSIC Softball Tournament.
