BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University softball head coach Jordan Petersen announced the addition of four student-athletes to the BSU softball program for the 2022-23 season. Aubrey Aukerman (Util., 5-7, Delton, Mich./Delton Kellogg HS), Morgan Benedict (C/2B, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS), Grace Gumiela (OF, 5-7, Chicago, Ill./Resurrection College Prep HS) and Elle Hastings (Util., 5-8, Hawley, Minn./Hawley HS) signed national letters of intent during the NCAA’s early signing period to join Bemidji State softball for the 2022-23 season.

All signees are contingent upon admission to BSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

* Aubrey Aukerman – Util. – 5-7 – R/R – Delton, Mich./Delton Kellogg HS
Delton Kellogg HS: Aubrey is a letter-winner for Delton Kellogg High School girls softball, basketball and cross country programs… 2020 All-Southwestern Athletic Conference First Team selection… Helped the Panthers to an 18-10 record in 2021 and win the district title… Earned all-region honors after batting .532 with 48 RBI, 41 runs and six home runs… Three-time All-SAC First Team selection in cross country… All-SAC Second Team selection in basketball… 

Personal: Daughter of Kyle and Julie Aukerman… Born on May 16, 2004… Plans to major in Business while attending Bemidji State… Enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends when not on the softball field.

* Morgan Benedict – C/2B – R/R – Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS
Farmington HS: Morgan is a letter-winner for Farmington High School’s softball program… Helped the Tigers win the Section 4A championship in 2019 and participate in the Minnesota State Tournament… 2019 Top Gun tournament champion… Helped the Tigers to a 11-13 record in 2021 and appearance in the Section 1A tournament… National Honors Society member and Academic Letter winner.

Personal: Daughter of Jason and Kelley Benedict… Born on March 8, 2004… Plans to major in science education while attending Bemidji State… Enjoys nature walks and observing the outdoors when not on the softball field.

* Grace Gumiela – OF – 5-7 – R/R – Chicago, Ill./Resurrection College Prep HS
Resurrection College Prep: Grace is a letter-winner for the Resurrection College Prep High School softball program… Helped the Bandits to a 10-13 record in 2021 and was named her team MVP… Earned All-GCAC honors in 2021… Member of the school’s National Honor Society and honor roll.

Personal: Daughter of Michael and Tracey Gumiela… Born on Dec. 30, 2003… Plans to major in Biology while attending Bemidji State… Enjoys being outdoors when not on the softball field.

* Elle Hastings – Util. – 5-8 – R/R – Hawley, Minn./Hawley HS
Hawley HS: Elle is a two-time letter-winner for Hawley High School’s softball program and letter-winner for its volleyball program… Helped the Nuggets to a 24-3 record during the 2021 season and Section 8AA championship… Participated in the 2021 Minnesota State Softball tournament and reached the State Quarterfinals… 2021 All-Heart-of-Lakes Conference selection and team offensive player of the year.

Personal: Daughter of Ryan and Jessica Hastings… Born on Feb. 3, 2004… Plans to major in Health and Physical Education while attending Bemidji State… Enjoys spending tie with family and friends and going outside when not on the softball field.
