Set program records in wins (25), strikeouts (307), ERA (1.24) and innings pitched (201.2) as well as second in complete games (26)... One of five Division II pitchers to record over 300 strikeouts during the 2017 season, finishing ranked fourth... Finished the season with a 25-8 record in the circle and the only pitcher in program history to record over 20 wins in a season... Posted a 1.24 ERA in 201.2 innings with 26 complete games and seven shutouts... Selected the Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Co-Pitcher of the Week (Apr.5) and NSIC Pitcher of the Week (Apr. 3) after pitching her first career perfect game... BSU's career record holder in wins (58) and strikeouts (828) and third in ERA (2.39)... Also led the team by posting a .368 batting average... Led the team in doubles (12), slugging percentage (.536) and on base percentage (.438)... Drove in 23 runs and came in to score 21 runs... Second in program history in career runs (88), RBI (98), walks (47), doubles (38) and home runs (25)... Selected BSU's Female Athlete of the Year... Appeared in 51 games in 2016 and made 27 starts in the circle...Named NSIC Pitcher of the Week twice (3/1/16) and (3/7/2016)... Tossed a no-hitter versus Merrimack University (3/17/16)... Threw four one-hitters... Set a career-high with 17 strikeouts against Dickinson State (3/316)... Set school records in wins (18) and strikeouts (276) during the season... Had the fourth best ERA (1.91) in BSU softball history... Compiled a 18-8 record with two saves and had seven shutouts... Finished fourth on the team with a .341 batting average... Set a school record with 38 runs scored and tied with Lyndsey Peterson for most home runs in a season (12)... Had the second most RBI in school history (37)... Needs 13 wins to become BSU's all-time wins leader and 20 strikeouts for the most in school history.
Started 46 games at pitcher, first base, designated player, left field and right field for BSU...Hit .216 with nine home runs and 30 RBI...Both of Yost's home run and RBI totals rank in the top five in program history for a single-season...Set career-high with three hits vs. Concordia College (April 27)...Posted a 12-13 record with a 2.80 ERA in 157.1 innings...Struck out 185 batters, which set a new program record for strikeouts in a season...Had seven double digit strikeout performances, including a 14-strikeout game against Doane College (March 12).
Posted a 3-9 record with a team-best 5.65 ERA in 79.1 innings pitched…Also started 16 games at first base…Hit first collegiate home run and notched three RBIs against nationally ranked Minnesota State (March 30).
Prior to BSU: A native of Bemidji, Yost helped lead the Lumberjacks to back-to-back state tournament appearances in her junior and senior years…As a team captain in her fourth year, she helped guide the team to the state consolation final where it lost to fifth-ranked Roseville, which went 27-6 on the season…Named to the all-tournament team for BHS, which reached a program record 24 wins for the second straight year…Selected to the 2012 all-state team her senior season after posting 494 kills on 1100 attacks, 76 blocks, and 422 digs… Reached the 1,000-kill mark in her junior season and also holds BHS’s career kills record…Set the school’s single-season kill record in her sophomore season and broke it in both her junior and senior years…Played in the AAU Volleyball Nationals during the summers of 2011 and 2012 with the Black Ice club team…A three-sport athlete, Yost also competed in basketball and softball and is a 10-time letterwinner…She was a standout on the softball field…During her junior year she led the Lumberjacks in batting average (.404), slugging percentage (.596), and had the best pitching record (9-3)…Pitched a perfect game against Grand Forks Central as a freshman and pitched a no-hitter that included 17 strikeouts in her junior year.
Personal: Born May 27, 1995… Daughter of Dennis and Laurie Yost… Majoring in exercise science at BSU… Sister, Chelsea, now a senior at Carleton College, competes on the softball team and earned All-MIAC honors in 2012.
