#16 Augustana Defeats Bemidji State 3-0 in Day 2 of North Central Regional Crossover

ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Bemidji State volleyball team (3-3, 0-0 NSIC) saw its three-game winning streak end Saturday morning, as #16 Augustana (6-4, 0-0 NCC) upended BSU 3-0 in the second day of the North Central Regional Crossover Challenge.

The Vikings opened the match with a 30-25 win by hitting .250 (13-4-36) compared to the Beavers .209 (16-7-43) clip. In games two and three, BSU was outscored 30-24 and 30-21. Overall, Augustana hit .240 (45-15-125) to BSU’s .210 (38-13-119) hitting percentage.

Freshman Alicia Beaman continued to provide a strong defensive presence for the Beavers, earning a team-high 15 digs in the match. Senior Heather Haugen provided the squad’s best hitting percentage with a .286 (9-1-28) mark, while also leading the team in kills with nine.

The Beavers conclude tournament play Saturday afternoon with a match against Nebraska-Omaha at 2 p.m.
