BEMIDJI, Minn. -- [complete tournament bracket] The Bemidji State University volleyball team has qualified for the 2006 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament to be played No. 2-4 at the Gangelhoff Center on the campus of Concordia University-St. Paul.

The eighth seeded Beavers take their 7-24; 3-15 NSIC mark into the tournament to battle hosting Concordia-St. Paul Thursday at 7:30 p.m. to wrap up the first day of competition as the final quarterfinal match. The No. 1 seeded Golden Bears look to defend their 2004 and 2005 tournament titles a well as preserve their untarnished record versus the NSIC this season (15-0). CSP heads into the tournament after being ranked No. 6 in the Oct. 23 American Volleyball Coaches' Association NCAA Division II national poll. With a win over No. 4 during its last week of play, CSP may certainly climb the ranks in this week's version of the poll.
