BEMIDJI, Minn. – Two matches for Bemidji State University volleyball team had their starting times changed on Tuesday. The Beavers’ meeting with the University of Sioux Falls this Saturday will now be played at 4 p.m. instead of 3 p.m., as originally scheduled. Additionally, BSU’s match at Concordia University, St. Paul on Oct. 20 will now begin at 4:30 p.m. instead of 4 p.m.
Saturday’s match against Sioux Falls was changed due to the large number of home Bemidji State athletic events taking place throughout the day and will allow Beaver fans to see more events. In addition the volleyball match, BSU will also host soccer, football, women’s hockey, and men’s hockey games. The match time against the Golden Bears was changed because CU is also hosting a football game and the NSIC cross country championships on Oct. 20.
After hosting second-ranked Southwest Minnesota State University on Friday at 7 p.m., Sioux Falls will visit Bemidji for the first-time ever and will face the Beavers for the first time as a member of the NSIC. The Beavers have won both all-time meetings between the schools. BSU will then travel to the University of Minnesota, Crookston and Minnesota State University, Mankato before its match against five-time defending national champion Concordia-St. Paul.
The Beavers have lost eight matches in a row and are now 3-13 on the year with a 1-8 mark in the NSIC. SMSU will come to town on Friday touting a 16-1 record with an 8-1 conference ledger, which puts the Mustangs in a tie for first place. Like the Beavers, Sioux Falls has a 1-8 NSIC record. The Cougars are 9-9 overall.
