BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University volleyball dropped its contest with the University of Mary Friday night, 3-0 (20-25, 19-25, 17-25). The Beavers fall to 6-22 (4-15 NSIC) on a night where they honored seniors Kayla DeJong, Ashley Kiecker, and Courtney Fox.
Bemidji was led on offense by Jessica Yost who tallied nine kills on 34 attacks, while Kori Leist and Amanda Tronick each had six kills. Kiecker led the Beavers with 18 assists in the match while DeJong led the Beavers on defense with 17 digs. Tronick followed with 10 digs and added two service aces as well. Leist tallied five blocks in the match although BSU was out-blocked by the Marauders 8-6.
The Marauders totaled 40 kills as a team to just 25 for the Beavers and out-dig BSU 62-49. U-Mary attacked at just a .150 clip, but Bemidji State could only attack at .009.
The Beavers close out the 2015 season tomorrow by hosting Minot State University at 3 p.m.
