MARSHALL, Minn. – The Bemidji State University volleyball team fell to No. 2 Southwest Minnesota State University, 3-0 (18-25, 6-25, 21-25) Friday night. The Beavers’ (7-15, 3-10 NSIC) defense couldn’t keep up with the Mustangs’ (18-3, 12-1 NSIC) attack that hit .439 during the match.
The Beavers were led by seniors Jessica Yost and Amanda Tronick who each tallied eight kills in the match. Yost inches closer to Bemidji State’s all-time career kills record and needs just 21 break the record.
Sophomore Jessica Reega added seven kills and led the Beavers by hitting .375. Freshman Shelby Haney assisted on 26 kills while Freshman Julie Touchett led the team with three blocks.
Bemidji State continues its road trip by traveling to Sioux Falls, S.D. to take on University of Sioux Falls, tomorrow.
