BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University volleyball head coach Kevin Ulmer has announced the 2017 volleyball schedule. The Beavers open the season September 1 in Minot, N.D., for a tournament at Minot State University.

The Beavers will face South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Minnesota State University, Moorhead, Montana State University Billings and Minot State during the Sept. 1-2 tournament.

BSU will then conclude non-conference play at the Michigan Tech Tourney in Houghton, Mich., Sept. 8-9. The Beavers will face Michigan Tech University, University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Lake Superior State University and Northern Michigan University during the two-day tournament.

The Beavers begin Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play Sept. 14 by traveling to St. Cloud State University and then face University of Minnesota Duluth, Sept. 16, for their first home match of 2017.

BSU then closes out the month of September with road matches at University of Minnesota, Crookston, Augustana University (S.D.) and Wayne State College Sept. 19, 29 and 30, respectively. Bemidji State hosts Southwest Minnesota State University and University of Sioux Falls Sept. 22 and 23, respectively, during the month.

Bemidji State will host six matches at the BSU Gymnasium during October and travel for four road matches. BSU hosts SCSU (Oct. 3), Upper Iowa University (Oct. 6), Winona State University (Oct. 7), Northern State University (Oct. 20), MSU-Moorhead (Oct. 21) and Minnesota Crookston (Oct. 31). The Beavers also travel to Concordia University-St. Paul (Oct. 13), Minnesota State University, Mankato (Oct. 14), University of Mary (Oct. 27) and Minot State University (Oct. 28) during the month.

The Beavers will then wrap up the regular season with two home matches and two road matches during November. BSU will host Wayne State and Augustana Nov. 3-4, respectively, before finishing the regular season on the road at Sioux Falls and SMSU Nov. 10-11, respectively.

Under the direction of first-year head coach Kevin Ulmer, the Beavers finished the 2016 season 7-22 (3-17 NSIC) and T-14th in the NSIC standings.

The Beavers return six letter-winners from the 2016 team and add nine newcomers to the program.
