Beavers end season with 3-0 loss to No. 6 Golden Bears

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Bemidji State University volleyball closed its season with a 3-0 loss (17-25, 15-25, 17-25) at No. 6 Concordia University-St. Paul Saturday afternoon. Senior middle blocker Julie Touchett led the Beavers with eight kills while freshman setter Maddie Mackinac totaled 21 assists as the Beavers move to 7-21 overall and 4-16 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Touchett opened the night with four kills in the first set while Mackinac recorded seven assists. Junior outside hitter Becky Schroeder paced the way in the second set with four kills while Mackinac chipped in another 10 assists. Bemidji State held a 9-6 lead in the third set and led again 12-10 in the third set. CSP pulled away after a 17-16 lead with seven straight points before moving on for the win.

As a team, Bemidji State hit .093 and totaled 21 sets, all from Mackinac. The Beavers recorded 29 digs, led by Mackinac with eight.
