Beavers ride to 70-67 win over Mustangs behind Heittola double-double

Bemidji State University women’s basketball featured a 20-point scorer for the second straight game during a 70-67 win over Southwest Minnesota State University on Saturday evening at R/A Facility in Marshall, Minn. The Beavers improve to 10-7 overall and 8-5 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference while the Mustangs fall to 9-7 and 6-6 in the NSIC.


Yoder, Heittola combine for 41 points in loss at Sioux Falls

The scoring duo of senior guard Trinity Yoder and sophomore forward Rachael Heittola combined for 41 points Friday night as Bemidji State University women’s basketball fell at the University of Sioux Falls, 66-59. The Beavers fall to 9-7 overall and 7-5 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference as the Cougars controlled the boards to score 23 second-chance points.


Women’s Basketball ends four-game road trip at USF, SMSU

Bemidji State University concludes its four-game road trip Jan. 21-22 with a trip to take on the University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Fals, S.D., and Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minn. The Beavers begin the weekend at 5:30 p.m. Friday against the Cougars at Stewart Center before a 3:30 p.m. tip-off Saturday against the Mustangs at R/A Facility.

Bemidji State University women’s basketball bounced back for a road weekend split after an 82-71 win over Concordia University-St. Paul on Saturday evening at Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul, Minn. Senior guard Trinity Yoder led the Beavers with 17 points and eight assists as the team improves to 9-6 overall and 7-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.


Second-half surge not enough in 72-68 loss at Minnesota State

Bemidji State University women’s basketball outscored Minnesota State University, Mankato by 15 points in the second half of a comeback effort, ultimately falling, 72-68, at Taylor Center Friday night. The Beavers, falling to 8-6 overall and 6-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, fell victim to 16 first-half turnovers that led to a 19-point deficit against the NSIC South Division-leading Mavericks.

Bemidji State University begins a four-game road trip against the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference South Division, beginning Jan. 14 at Minnesota State University, Mankato and Jan. 15 at Concordia University-St. Paul. Yoder’s 22 points leads Beavers to biggest win over Warriors since 2006

Senior guard Trinity Yoder’s 22 points led the Bemidji State University women’s basketball to a 75-60 victory over Winona State University on Friday night, marking the largest victory for BSU over WSU since 2006. The Beavers’ third straight win improves the team to 8-5 overall and 6-3 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.


Saturday Women’s Basketball game versus Upper Iowa canceled

Saturday’s game between Bemidji State University women’s basketball and Upper Iowa University has been canceled due to COVID-19 protocols within the UIU program. Following Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference agreed-upon policy, the game will be ruled as “no contest” and will not be rescheduled.


Women’s Basketball begins interdivisional play versus WSU, UIU

Bemidji State University welcomes in Winona State University and Upper Iowa University to BSU Gymnasium on Jan. 7-8 for its first full Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference interdivisional weekend since the 2019-20 season. The Beavers begin action Friday at 7:30 p.m. against the Warriors before a 5:30 p.m. tip-off Saturday against the Peacocks.
