Guard Bachmann commits to join Beaver Women’s Hoops for 2017-18 season

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State University women’s basketball Head Coach Chelsea DeVille announced that guard Brooke Bachmann of Minooka Community High School in Minooka, Ill., has committed to joining the program, beginning with the 2017-18 season.

Bachmann’s acceptance is contingent upon admission to BSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

Brooke Bachmann, a 5-foot-9-inch guard from Minooka, Ill., finished her career at MCHS as a three-time All-Southwest Prairie Conference team member and All-SPC MVP runner-up. She earned Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-State Special Mention and was an IBCA all-star invitee. Bachmann finished as Minooka’s all-time points leader and owns the school’s single-season points record. She was a two-time team captain and four-time all-area team member. In addition to her skills on the basketball court, Bachmann also helped MCHS finish as state runner-up in volleyball. She finished second all-time in assists in state history and named to Illinois All-State Volleyball First Team. Bachmann also set the all-time MCHS record in pole vault, indoor and outdoor, and was an SPC champion in indoor track.

The daughter of Charlie and Teresa Bachmann, she is a proposed major in healthcare administration.

“We are very fortunate to have Brooklyn join our program,” DeVille said. “She is a high level player with great court sense who will be expected to earn a large role next fall.”
