BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The journey to the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., begins Nov. 13 for the Bemidji State University women’s basketball team as head coach Chelsea DeVille released the 2021-22 schedule.
The Beavers begin its season with three straight home games, including one exhibition, before traveling for a tournament in Lakeland, Fla., Nov. 26-27. BSU will first play Mayville State University on Nov. 13, Valley City State University on Nov. 16 and an exhibition against the University of Minnesota-Morris on Nov. 20, all at BSU Gymnasium. BSU will then head South to open the Southeastern Tournament Nov. 26 against the University of the Sciences before taking on Southeastern University on Nov. 27.
The 2021-22 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference schedule will feature a change to the previous format, as the women will play their games following the conclusion of the men’s games for the first 11 conference games. Beaver Women’s Basketball will play its Friday games at 7:30 p.m. followed by Saturday games at 5:30 p.m. during the Friday/Saturday series from Dec. 2-Jan 15.
Bemidji State begins its conference schedule Dec. 2 with a home game against the University of Minnesota Duluth before traveling to St. Cloud, Minn., on Dec. 4 to take on St. Cloud State University. BSU will then travel to the University of Minnesota Crookston on Dec. 7 before opening its traditional Friday/Saturday weekend series. Bemidji State will host Minnesota State University Moorhead on Dec. 10 and Northern State University on Dec. 11 before traveling to the University of Mary on Dec. 17 and Minot State University on Dec. 18.
The Beavers will head to winter break following their game on Dec. 18 and will return to action Jan. 2, 2022 with a home game against Minnesota Crookston. BSU will then host Winona State University on Jan. 7 and Upper Iowa University on Jan. 8. The final weekend of the women playing late games will come Jan. 14 at Minnesota State University, Mankato and Jan. 15 at Concordia University-St. Paul.
Bemidji State continues a four-game road trip through the middle of January with a trip to take on the University of Sioux Falls on Jan. 21 and Southwest Minnesota State University on Jan. 22. BSU will close out the month of January at home on the 28-29 against Augustana University and Wayne State College.
BSU will play three home and three road games to close out the regular season, beginning with a home series Feb. 4-5 against Minot State and UMary. The Beavers travel Feb. 11-12 to Northern State and MSU Moorhead before its final weekend Feb. 17 at Minnesota Duluth and Feb. 19 at home against St. Cloud State.
Also new to the 2021-22 season, the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament will consist of 12 teams which will begin Wednesday, Feb. 23 on campus sites. The top two seeds in each division receive first-round byes ahead of the conference tournament Feb. 26-March 1 at the Sanford Pentagon.
