BSU to host Maple Ridge Run

BEMIDJI, Minn. -Bemidji State University will host the Maple Ridge Run on Friday, Sep. 6. The event will include unattached athletes and teams from the University of North Dakota,; North Dakota State University; Minnesota State University, Moorhead; Valley City State University, and Bemidji State University. There will also be a separate race for various high schools and their athletes.

The event will take place at the Maple Ridge Golf Course, which is three miles south of Bemidji on #71 and 2 miles east. The schedule will be as follows: 3:00 p.m. - Varsity H.S. Girls; 3:45 p.m. - Varsity H.S. Boys; 4:30 p.m. - Junior High Boys/Girls; 5:00 p.m. - College open Women; 5:45 p.m. - College open Men.

Entry fee is $50.00 for girls and $50.00 for boys and inquiries can be faxed to 218-755-3898 or e-mailed to [email protected] by Wednesday, Sep. 4. Any questions can be referred to head coach Craig Hougen at 218-755-2883.

Last Friday, Bemidji State University senior Martha Miltich (Cohasset, Minn.) took the top spot in the Buffalo River Run hosted by Concordia-Moorhead with the time of 21:19.3, 40 seconds faster than her closest competitor. As a team, BSU placed third behind Concordia-Moorhead and Jamestown.
