Christa Pribula Receives NSIC Honors

Bemidji, Minn. - Earlier this week, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) announced that Bemidji State University women’s cross country runner freshman Christa Pribula (Cohasset, MN) had been selected as the Runner of the Week for the week of October 14th.

Pribula received this honor after placing sixth in the Minnesota State Universtiy-Moorhead Invitational at the Ponderosa Golf Course. She finished the race with a mark of 19:43.98.

Pribula has finished first amongst her teammates in the last four meets. Competing in the Ron Pynn Invite (Sept. 20) at the University of North Dakota she ran a 20.24, placing her 21st. On Sept. 28, at the University of Minnesota meet, she placed 75th overall with a time of 19:59.7. A week later (Oct. 5) she placed 13th, running 6000 meters with a mark of 24:27.1 at the University of Minnesota-Duluth Invite.

At the start of the season, her time was 22:18.90 at the Concordia Triangular Aug. 30. Since then, she has cut more than two minutes off her time.

Next up for the Beaver Cross Country team is the NSIC Championships which is held in Bemidji Oct. 26.
