Pribula Wins NSIC Weekly Award
BEMIDJI, MINN. -- Sophomore Christa Pribula (E. Grand Forks, Minn.) has been recognized by the league offices as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Runner of the Week, for Sept. 29.

Pribula posted a dominant victory at the Minnesota State-Moorhead cross country invitational on Friday, winning the event with a time of 19:39.09 - nearly 20 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Pribula, who earned All-NSIC honors for BSU last season and has been arguably the program’s top runner during the fall season, defeated Minnesota State-Moorhead’s Sarah Thome by 18.03. Pribula and Thome were the only two runners in the meet with times under 20:00.

“It was a big race for Christa and Bemidji State because everyone ran so well and achieved the times that we have been shooting for,” said head coach Craig Hougen.

“Christa is a leader on our team and everyone looks up to her and tries to get where she is at. She is deserving because she has worked hard not only this fall, but especially this summer.”

Next action for the Bemidji State harriers comes Oct. 11 at the Minnesota-Duluth Invitational. That meet will be BSU’s final trial run prior to the NSIC Championships, which will also be held in Duluth. The Championships begin Oct. 25.
