Beavers head to Pine Hill Invitational
BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The Bemidji State University cross country team returns to action Saturday for the first time in a month as it competes in the Pine Hill Invitational at the Pine Hill Golf Course in Carlton, Minn. The meet is hosted by the University of Minnesota Duluth and scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

The Beavers are coming off a seventh place showing at the Randy Smith Invitational Sep. 9th. Senior Kirsten Maras (Anoka, Minn.) led all Beavers with a time of 24 minutes, 17.1 seconds to place 26th in individually.

Juniors, Tina Larson (Morris, Minn.) and Michelle Ohman (Prior Lake, Minn.) placed 33rd and 41st with times of 24:44.9 and 25:36.2, respectively. Newcomer Tess Boucher (Fr., Alexandria, Minn.) finished in 25:34.2, grabbing 40th place.

Last year BSU recorded a third-place finish at the Pine Hill Invitational compiling 82 team points, finishing 16 points behind St. Cloud State University and 67 behind first-place Minnesota Duluth. Individually, Ali Hougen (Sr., Bemidji, Minn.) recorded a 25:21.9 to place 20th, while Maras crossed the finish line in 23rd (25:48.1).
