Beavers host Greenwood Run

Bemidji, Minn. – The Bemidji State women’s cross country team will host the Greenwood Run Friday starting at 2:30 p.m. at the Greenwood Golf Course in Bemidji, Minn.

The last time the Beavers hosted the 4,000 meter race was in 2009. Only two runners on the current team ran the race, Michelle Ohman (Sr., Prior Lake, Minn.) posted a time of 23:29.20 and placed 28th while Tina Larson (Sr., Morris, Minn.) ran a time of 24:58.03.

In 2009, University of Mary took the overall team title while the Beavers took fourth.

In last weekend’s meet at Valley City State the Beavers took third led by Larson who ran a 16:02 to place ninth. BSU also ran eleven other runners including Ohman (16:03) who placed tenth, Emily Taylor (Fr., Bingham Lake, Minn.) ran a 16:45 to place 22nd, Jolynne Denmon (Fr., Esko, Minn.) 17:05 placed 29th and Mackenzie Haupert (Jr., Andover, Minn.) 17:06 placed 30th.

Concordia came out on top for the team title.

Nestled in Northern Minnesota’s wooden region and located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, BSU sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men’s and women’s hockey membership in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
