BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University cross country team will be traveling to Joplin, Mo. to compete at the NCAA Regional Championship Sat, Nov. 3. The 6,000-meter race will begin at 10:30 a.m. on the cross country course on the campus of Missouri Southern State University.
The last race the Beavers ran in was the NSIC Championships in St. Paul, Minn. Oct. 20. The team tied for 11th and was led by Tina Larson (Morris, Minn.) who finished 51st with a 25:12.8. Michelle Ohman (Sr., Prior Lake, Minn.) had a time of 26:08.8, Mackenzie Haupert (Jr., Andover, Minn.) finished with a time of 26:40.6, Emily Turner (Fr., Bingham Lake, Minn.) had a time of 26:40.6 and Taylor Sautbine (Jr., Tamarack, Minn.) finished with a 27:22.8.
In 2011 the Beavers finished 20th in the Regional Championship while Larson finished with a time of 26:55.0. Other current Beavers who ran in the 2011 race includes Tess Boucher (So., Alexandria, Minn.) who ran a 28:10.0, Ohman finished with a 28:58.0 and Sautbine crossed the line with a 29:15.0. Western State College won the team overall and had the individual winner in Lauren Kleppin.
