Beavers back in action Friday at Jimmie Invitational

BEMIDJI, Minn. – After nearly a month off from competition, the Bemidji State University cross country team is back in action Friday, Oct. 11 at the Jimmie Invitational. The gun for the 5,000-meter race, hosted by University of Jamestown, is set to go off at 4:45 p.m. at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Jamestown, N.D.

The Beavers’ last competitive race came at the Randy Smith Invitational Sept. 13. BSU was led in the 5,000-meter race by sophomore Emily Turner (Bringham Lake, Minn). Turner posted a time of 20 minutes and nine seconds to finish 25th. Freshman Nikki Szech (Long Prairie, Minn.) came in 41st with a time of 20:56.

The race is the final tune-up for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship, a 6,000-meter race, held Oct. 26 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
