BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University cross country team is back in action Saturday as it travels to Sioux Falls, S.D. to compete in the 2016 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships.
The 6,000-meter race will be held at Yankton Trail Park and will begin at 11:15 a.m. The race features 15 league member teams competing for individual and team championships.
Last season, Bemidji State finished 12th and the league event with 332 points. The Beavers were eight points behind 10th place Minot State University and ahead of Upper Iowa University (381), Concordia University-St. Paul (397) and Wayne State College (416). Former Beaver Nicole Crummy clocked a 24:44.5 to lead BSU.
In their most recent action, the Beavers finished sixth at the Bob Waxlax Invitational October 10. Senior Vanessa Rae Lopez placed 17th with a time of 23:28.4 while Sarone Paulzine placed 39th (24:54.4) and Jane Austin (25:35.9) and Madison Kealy (25:51.1) rounded out the top 50 individuals.
