BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The Bemidji State University cross country team is back in action Saturday as it travels to Sioux Falls, S.D. to compete in the 2016 NCAA Division II Central Region Championships.
The 6,000-meter race will be held at Yankton Trail Park and features 34 teams teams hailing from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Great American Conference. The starting gun is set for 11:15 a.m.
Last season, Bemidji State finished with a team score of 688 to gain 25th in the 31-team field. Former Beaver Nicole Crummy clocked a career-best 23:10.07 to place 69th to lead BSU.
The University of Mary's Alexis Zeis won the individual title with a time of 20:08.31, while five of the top 10 individual finishers called the NSIC home.
Southwest Baptist University won the event with 79 points, while the University of Minnesota Duluth finished second to pace the NSIC.
