Bemidji State University landed 29 student-athletes on the 2017 Fall Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team.
Freshman Brittny Hillstrom finished atop the Bemidji State University cross country leader board for the third consecutive week as the team competed at the NCAA Central Regional Saturday in Kearney, Neb. Hillstrom finished 133rd overall with a final time of 24:32.95 while the team finished 30th of 32 teams.
The Bemidji State University cross country team will send seven runners to the 2017 NCAA Central Regional meet Saturday, Nov. 4 in Kearney, Neb. After completing the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships two weekends ago, the Beavers will attempt to qualify runners for the NCAA Championships.
Freshman Brittny Hillstrom was one of five Bemidji State University cross country runners to set a personal record Saturday at the 2017 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships. Hillstrom finished highest among the Beavers runners with a time of 24:22.9, while BSU finished 14th overall with an average time of 25:25.5 in Moorhead, Minn.

The young Bemidji State University cross country team is set to run in the Roy Griak Invitational Saturday, Sept. 23 in Falcon Heights, Minn., beginning at 9:50 a.m. Eight Beavers in total will run the 6K race with six making the trip for the first time in their careers.
Freshman Ellen Peterson and junior Sarone Paulzine led the Bemidji State University cross country program Friday night as the team opened the 2017 season at the Dragon Twilight in Moorhead, Minn. Peterson and Paulzine finished back-to-back in the 30th and 31st spots while four of BSU's top five finishers were freshmen.
The Bemidji State University cross country program hits the open course for the first time in 2017 with a trip to Moorhead, Minn., Friday, Sept. 8 to take part in the Dragon Twilight. The meet begins at 8:15 p.m. with the 4K run from the Moorhead Soccer Complex.
