ST. PAUL, Minn. (University of Minnesota Les Bolstad Golf Course) -- Bemidji State University cross country freshman Ryne Prigge led the program for the second straight meet at the highly-regarded Roy Griak Invitational Saturday in St. Paul, Minn. The true freshman led the Beavers with a time of 24:44.1 in the 6,000-meter race and finished 79th overall between 22 NCAA Division II programs.

Prigge helped lead the Beavers to an average time of 27:03.14, while the team finished 20th among the NCAA DII teams. Following Prigge was freshman Allyna Storms with a time of 26:02.6. Sophomores Ashley Kinnard and Ashley Herdering finished three places apart, Kinnard in 163rd with a time of 27:45.2 and Herdering in 166th with a time of 28:101.

Bemidji State returns to the trail Saturday, Oct. 13 at 12:30 p.m. in the Ron Pynn Classic in Grand Forks, N.D.

Nestled in Northern Minnesota’s wooded region and located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, Bemidji State University sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men’s and women’s hockey membership in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
