BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State University track and field head coach Kevin Kean announced the addition of five student-athletes that will join the program beginning with the 2019-20 season. Four of the five newcomers hail from in-state as part of the Beavers' early signing-period class.

Each student-athlete’s acceptance is contingent upon admission to BSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

Tierra Doss, a thrower from Rosemount, Minn., is a four-time letter winner in track and field at Rosemount High School. She si a two-time South Suburban Conference All-Conference performer and the 2018 SSC shot put champion. Doss’s personal record shot put of 39-feet-1-inch is RHS’s best mark since 1983. She was named Rosemount’s 2018 Most Valuable Thrower and is a team captain for the 2018 season. Doss currently holds a discus best throw of 120-3.

Doss’s sister, Kaneeshia Johnson, is a Bemidji State track and field alumnus.

Andrea Dudley, a hurdler and jumper from Nevis, Minn., is a mutli-Section 8 Subsection 29A champion. She finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 34-4.75 and the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.88 at the Minnesota State High School League Section 8A Subsection 29A Championships. Dudley holds a personal best mark of 49.62 in the 300m hurdles.

Mckenzie Evans, a distance and relay runner from Kasson, Minn., is a five-time letter winner in track at Kasson-Mantorville High School. She is a five-year section competitor and holds personal record times of 2:24.03 in the 800m run and 5:46.06 in the 1,600m run. Evans finished sixth in the 800m run and helped the 4x400m relay team to an eighth place finish at the 2017 Section 1AA Championships. She also helped the 4x400m relay team to a ninth place finish at the 2016 Section 1AA Championships.

Evans is also a letter winner in volleyball at KMHS, helping her team to Minnesota state finishes of fourth in 2016, fifth in 2017 and third in 2018. She was also an FFA Star Greenhand in 2015.

Lily Johnson, a distance runner and hurdler from Monticello, Minn., is a three-sport captain at Monticello High School. She was named all-conference in cross country following the 2016 and 2017 seasons before being named all-conference honorable mention in 2018. Johnson was also selected all-conference honorable mention in the 300 meter hurdles in 2017 and 2018. She holds personal record times of 49.69 in the 300m hurdles, 1:05.55 in the 400m, 5:52.17 in the 1600m and 21:05.08 in the 5,000m run in cross country.

Johnson is a National Honor Society member at MHS.

Lauren McComas, a jumper and sprinter from Marshall, Mo., is a letter winner in track and field at Marshall High School. She earned the Missouri State High School Activities League Academic Achievement Award following the 2017 season. McComas holds personal best marks of 29.75 in the 200m dash, 15-11.5 in the long jump and 31-6.75 in the triple jump.
