BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State University track and field head coach Kevin Kean announced the addition of two more student-athletes to the 2018-19 signing class in Janice Cole and Emma Realing. The two additions in spritns and distance bring the Beavers’ class to eight, all of which will join the program in the fall of 2019.

Both student-athlete’s acceptance is contingent upon admission to BSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

Janice Cole, a sprinter from St. Paul, Minn., is a letter winner at Washington Technology Magnet School who took a first-place finish at the 2018 St. Paul City Conference Championship. She holds personal record times of 8.29 in the 60-meter dash, 12.66 in the 100m dash, 26.01 in the 200m dash and 58.68 in the 400m dash.

Emma Realing, a distance runner from Casper, Wyo., is a 12-time letter winner in cross country and track and field at Kelly Walsh High School. She is a team captain and a member of the National Honor Society. Realing holds outdoor personal record times of 1:07.98 in the 400m dash, 2:33.04 in the 800m run and 5:42.89 in the 1600m run. Indoors she holds personal record times of 1:11.44 in the 400m dash, 2:48.77 in the 800m run and 6:03.76 in the 1600m run. During her cross country career, Realing holds a personal record time of 20:32.48 in the 5K.

Cole and Realing join six student-athletes who announced their intentions to participate with BSU next season. Joining the duo is thrower Tierra Doss, hurdler and jumper Andrea Dudley, distance and relay runner Mckenzie Evans, distance runner and hurdler Lily Johnson, jumper and sprinter Lauren McComas and sprinter Paige MIllerman.
