Five Beavers set personal records at NCAA DII Central Region Championship

JOPLIN, Mo. -- Bemidji State University cross country saw all five of its runners set personal records Saturday morning at the 2021 NCAA Division II Central Regional Championship in Joplin, Mo. Freshman Mary Goodwin paced the Beavers on the 6,000-meter course as the team finished 29th at Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.

Goodwin led the BSU pack with a 125th-place finish of 23:27.51, followed by fellow freshman Zoey Mills with a time of 23:35.11 to finish 131st. Freshman Carol Miller took 194th with a time of 25:11.36 with sophomore Amanda Hernesman two spots behind with a time of 25:24.72. Freshman Natalie Fultz finished 221st with a personal record time of 27:12.87.

Winona State University’s Lindsay Cunningham won the individual title with a time of 20:22.52 while Augustana University took the team title with five runners within the top 14.

The NCAA DII Cross Country Championship will be held Saturday, Nov. 20 at The Abbey Course in Saint Leo, Fla. Selections for the championship will be announced on Monday, Nov. 8 at NCAA.com.
