BSU places 11th at Augustana Spring Invite
SIOUX FALLS, S.D.  (Prairie Green Golf Course) -- Marissa Mackedanz (Jr., Paynesville, Minn.) carded a 82-85-167 (+23) Sunday at the par-72 Prairie Green Golf Course to finish the Augustana Spring Invitational in 36th place and to pace a Bemidji State University women’s golf team that took 11th.

The Beavers, who recorded a team total of 335 to hold ninth place after 18 holes of the two day, 36-hole event, stumbled on day two posting a 356 to slip to 11th overall with total of 691 (+115). BSU finished 81 strokes off the lead set by Gustavus Adolphus College. The Gusties led from wire to wire firing a team total of 610 (+34) for low team honors.

Taylor Drenttle and Katie Schenfeld of Gustavus and Augustana College’s Emily Kvidera posted matching 149s (+5) to share medallist honors.

Other Bemidji State players in competition were: Kathryn Stoffels (Fr., Maple Grove, Minn.) who took 39th with a 169 (+25), Lindsay Morgan (Fr., Crookston, Min.) who finished 53rd with 178 (+34) and Gretchen Trosen (Jr., Larimore, N.D.) who was just one stroke behind in 54th place after shooting a two-day total of 179 (+35). Ciarra Paulson (So., Hermantown, Minn.) rounded out the team in 66th place after posting a 190 (+46).

Bemidji State will be back in action next weekend when it travels to Mankato, Minn. to participate in the Maverick Invitational. The event is set to begin Saturday and will conclude Sunday afternoon.
