Bemidji State tied for seventh after first round of NSIC Championship
BRANDON, S.D.  (Brandon Golf Course) -- The Bemidji State University women’s golf team posted a 365 (+81) today to sit sixth in the team standings after the first round of the 36-hole 2010 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships at Brandon Golf Course in Brandon, S.D.

The Beavers, who are 46 strokes off the pace set by Augustana College (318; +35), head into Saturday’s final round led by junior Gretchen Trosen.  The Larimore, N.D. native carded a first-day total of 87 to sit 16 shots over par locked in a six-way tie for 21st place individually.  

Augustana’s Emily Kvidera holds a two-shot lead over the field after firing a 77 (+6) to own low-round honors.

Bemidji State and the rest of the NSIC Championship field will be back on the par-71, 5,904-yard Brandon Golf Course tomorrow to wrap up the event with the final 18 holes.
