NISSWA, Minn. (The Classic) -- Mary Elmquist (So., Andover, Minn.) carded a ten-over-par 82 Sunday to finish the fall portion of the 2014-15 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship in 25th place at +35 (97-82—179). Elmquist paced the Bemidji State University women’s golf team to ninth place with a 742 (388-354/+166).
The opening two rounds of the unique 72-hole conference championship in the books, the teams will resume the event with the final 36 holes of the cumulative championship April 25-26, 2015 at Dacotah Ridge in Morton, Minn.
Elmquist finished the day 24 strokes off the pace set by Sierra Langlie of Augustana College, who posted rounds of 77 and 78 to finish 36 holes at 11 over par (155).
Augustana placed four individuals among the top 10 to sit firmly in the driver seat for the team title with 36 holes to go. The Vikings posted a team score of 321-327—648 (+72) to hold an 18-shot lead over the rest of the field.
BSU is 94 shots back in ninth place.
The NSIC Championship brings an end to the Beavers 2014-15 fall season. Bemidji State will return to action in the spring.
