BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University women’s golf coach Mark Bagaason announced the addition of Peyton Miller for the 2015-16 season. The Brooten, Minn. native made her commitments to attend Bemidji State during the NCAA’s regular signing period beginning April 15.
Already a five-time All-Central Minnesota Conference selection, Miller has been a member of the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa High School girl’s golf team since seventh grade. Finishing among the top 10 players in the conference each season since seventh grade, Miller has qualified for the Minnesota State High School League Girl’s Golf Tournament as an individual four times. Last spring, Miller tied for 27th, carding rounds of 98 and 88 to finish at 42 over par. A multi-sport athlete, Miller is an 11-time letterwinner for the Jaguars
Equally as talented in the classroom, Miller is a two-year member of the National Honor Society and is a regular on the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Honor Roll.
All signees are contingent upon admission to BSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Under the direction of Bagaason, BSU completed its seven-event season with two top-three team finishes, including a BSU Invitational championship. Sophomore Mary Elmquist led the team, posting an 86.6 18-hole scoring average in 14 rounds. She recorded two top-10 finishes in 2014-15.
Nestled in Northern Minnesota’s wooded region and located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, Bemidji State University sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men’s and women’s hockey membership in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
