BSU outshot OSU in the second as well, 10-5, but it had kill off four power plays in the process. The Beavers blocked 12 shots in the second to keep the deficit at one heading into the final period.

The penalties showed up in the third as well for the Beavers as they committed four infractions including a five-minute major at the 16:01 mark to put BSU down a player for the last 3:59 of regulation.
