EDINA, Minn. – Bemidji State University women’s hockey senior Brittni Mowat has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s first Defensive Player of the Week of the 2016-17 season. This is the sixth time in her career that she has earned this honor as well as one Rookie of the Week honor.
Mowat made a total of 57 saves to help the Beavers split their WCHA opening weekend against No. 2 University of Minnesota including 31 in her 16th career shutout, Oct. 8. She totaled a 1.50 goals against average had a .950 save percentage to improve to a 2-1-0 record on the season.
Mowat and the No. 8 Bemidji State women’s hockey team are back in action at the Sanford Center this weekend and host Ohio State University, Oct. 14-15.
