BEMIDJI, Minn. (Chet Anderson Stadium) -- Minot State University scored in the first minute of the match and would not look back, erupting for four goals in a 4-1 victory over Bemidji State University.
The loss stands as the Beavers' first of the 2015 season and its first at Chet Anderson Stadium since its 2014 regular season finale versus St. Cloud State University, Nov. 2, 1-0.
Minot State on the board just 30 seconds into the match as MSU took the opening kick and got behind the BSU back line and Ninfa Ramirez beat Anna Fobbe one-on-one. The goal marked the first Fobbe has allowed since Sept. 3--a streak spanning 385:06.
MSU built a 2-0 lead before BSU would find the back of the net.
Trailing 2-1 a the half, BSU saw Minot State add two goals during the final 45 minutes to take the match 4-1.
Ramirez finished the day with a goal and two assists to pace the MSU offense.
Fobbe, took her first loss of the season, stopping two of four shots in 21:49 before leaving with an injury. Catherine Arneson completed the match (68:11) making four saves on six shots.
Bemidji State returns to Chet Anderson Stadium at 7 p.m. Friday when it hosts Minnesota State University, Mankato in an NSIC match up.
