ST. CLOUD, Minn. (Husky Stadium) – Kate Fearing scored in the 94th minute to break a 1-1 tie and earn St. Cloud State University an overtime victory over Bemidji State University, Friday at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud, Minn.
After falling behind SCSU in the 52’ minute, the Beavers knotted the score in the 62nd minute on a header by Christine Szurek. Abby Nyquist was credited with an assist on the play.
Anna Fobbe was in goal for the Beavers. She made two saves and allowed one goal on 93:26 of action. She falls to 7-6-1 on the season.
The Beavers are now 1-2-1 in overtime in 2015.
The Beavers, now 10-6-1 overall and 7-6-1 in NSIC play, returns to Bemidji, Minn. and Chet Anderson Stadium Sunday to host University of Minnesota Duluth in the 2015 regular-season finale. Opening kick is set for 1 p.m.
Ties with Concordia University-St. Paul and Southwest Minnesota State University for sixth place, Sunday’s match up with UMD will decide whether BSU makes the eight-team NSIC Tournament.
