Freshman class carries BSU to 3-0 victory over Concordia-St. Paul

BEMIDJI, Minn. (Chet Anderson Stadium) -- Erin Becker, Devin Breeggemann and Megan Dahl all scored and Anna Fobbe posted a shutout to lead the No. 5 Bemidji State University Soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Concordia University-St. Paul.

The victory was the Beavers' 13 of the season extending a program record as BSU improved to 13-0-0 overall and 10-0-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.

The Beavers took the lead in 21st minute on an Erin Becker goal when she took a crossing pass from Rachael Norton at the top of the six-yard box and buried it for her third goal of the season.

Clinging to a 1-0 lead at the half, Breeggemann booted her first BSU goal from distance and put BSU up 2-0 in the 69th minute. Dahl followed suit in the 75th minute draining a free kick from 35 yards out off the CSP goalkeeper's fingertips for her first collegiate goal.

Fobbe collected two saves in 90 minutes for her seventh shutout of 2018.

The Beavers return to action Sunday when they host Minnesota State University, Mankato. Opening kick is set for 1 p.m.
