Beavers play St. Cloud State to 0-0 draw

ST. CLOUD, Minn.(Husky Stadium) -- The Bemidji State University soccer team battled St. Cloud State University for 110 minutes Friday and settled for tie in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference standings after a 0-0 draw.

Junior goalkeeper Emma Riedi turned aside all five shots that she faced to earn her first collegiate shutout as the Beavers outshot the Huskies 12-11 with a 9-5 edge in shots on goal.

Offensively, Sara Wendt led the charge with three shots taken landing two on goal.

The Beavers put four shots on goal during the two overtime frames, including shots by senior Tia Neuharth and junior Alana Mattson during the final 10 minutes of play, but were unable to beat the SCSU goalkeeper Zoe Welsh.

The Beavers, now 1-2-1 overall and 0-0-1 in NSIC play, return to action Sunday when they continue their current league road trip with a match up with the Bulldogs at University of Minnesota Duluth. The UMD-BSU matchup is slated for a 1 p.m. opening kickoff from Griggs Field at James Malosky Stadium.
