Beavers drop final match of five game road swing

BEMIDJI, Minn. - The St. Cloud State Huskies were able to pick up a victory over the Bemidji State University Beavers 9-0 in action Monday in St. Cloud, Minn.

The Huskies were able to pick up points at the three doubles spot. The Beavers were able to salvage one game.

In singles action sophmore Kali Welu (Pequot Lakes, Minn.) gave her opponent Jacquelyn Peterson all she could handle at the No. 1 spot. Peterson was able to prevailed 6-4, 6-4 over Welu. Sophmore Amy Erickson (Roseau, Minn.) continued to stay competitive in her matches at the No. 4 singles spot but found her opponent Laura Klein too much as Klein came away with a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Erickson.

The Beavers record is now 0-9 (0-3; NSIC) on the season. The Beavers will look to claim their first victory of the season when they play host to the University Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagles on Wednesday at the Gillett Recreation and Fitness Center with the match scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
