BSU falls in two NSIC matches

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The Bemidji State University women's tennis team lost 5-4 to Southwest Minnesota State University and 9-0 to St. Cloud State University on Saturday in St. Cloud, Minn. The Beavers fall to 0-4 on the season with Saturday's losses.

At No. 1 singles, Kara Johnson (Sr., Anoka, Minn.) went 0-2 losing 6-3, 6-3 to her opponent from Southwest Minnesota State and 6-0, 6-0 to her foe from St. Cloud State.

At the No. 2 slot, Britney Greenwaldt (Jr., Morris, Minn.) posted an 0-2 mark losing 6-2, 6-0 to her opposition from SMSU and 6-1, 6-0 to her foe from SCSU.

At No. 3 singles, Kelli Christiansen (Jr., Bemidji, Minn.) went 0-2 losing 6-4, 6-0 to the Mustangs and 6-1, 6-0 to her opponent from St. Cloud State.

At the No. 4 spot, Miranda Milless (Jr., Motley, Minn.) went 0-2 falling 6-3, 6-2 to SMSU and 6-1, 6-1 to SCSU.

At the No. 5 slot, Meg Hafdahl (So., Virginia, Minn.) posted the one of BSU's singles two singles wins and went 1-1 with a victory over Southwest Minnesota State, 6-1, 6-1. She fell to her foe from St. Cloud State 6-0, 6-2.

At No. 6, Katherine Wolak (Jr., Geneseo, Ill.) went 1-1 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over SMSU but fell 6-0, 6-1 to the Huskies.

BSU posted two doubles victories with Milless and Hafdahl winning 9-7 at No. 2 doubles over SMSU and Greenwaldt and Wolak picking up a 8-3 victory over SMSU's No. 3 duo.

Christiansen and Johnson fell 8-6 to SMSU and 8-0 to the Huskies. Milless and Wolak fell to SCSU's No. 2 duo, 8-1 while Jenae Anderson (Fr., Little Falls, Minn.) and Hafdahl fell 8-3 to SCSU.
