SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Bemidji State University tennis team fell to University of Sioux Falls 7-2 on Sunday morning in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Beavers fall to 1-7 on the year in their first season under head coach Beth Campus. USF improves to 1-1 on the season.
Bemidji State picked up a doubles victory from Britney Greenwaldt (Jr., Morris, Minn.) and Katherine Wolak (Jr., Geneseo, Ill.) at the No. 3 slot. The pair upended their foes from the Cougars 8-2 to improve to 4-3 for the Beavers' best doubles record so far this season.
In singles, Greenwaldt gave BSU their lone win at the No. 2 slot upending her opponent, 7-6(3), 6-1. The win was the second of the season for Greenwaldt. The last two singles matches of the day at No. 5 and No. 6 were played in eight-game pro sets due to time constraints. Wolak came close against her foe but ultimately fell 8-6 to fall to 4-4 on the year. Meg Hafdahl (So, Virginia, Minn.) fell 8-4 at No. 5 singles to drop to 3-5 on the season.
BSU will next compete on March 19 when they head to Owatonna, Minn. for a neutral-site match against Upper Iowa University.
