BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Bemidji State University tennis team hosts its first home matches of the season from Gillett Recreation/Fitness Center, Feb. 28-March 1. The Beavers will face University of Sioux Falls Saturday at 9 a.m. to start the weekend and will follow up with Augustana College and University of Minnesota Crookston Sunday. Sunday’s matches are set for 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
Last weekend the Beavers came up short in a pair of NSIC matches as the fell against University of Minnesota Duluth Feb. 20, 6-3 and to St. Cloud State University Feb. 21, 9-0. Shaylin Prout and Deanie Hatch both won their singles match, as well as Sabrina Okeson and Justine Scheller taking their doubles match against the Bulldogs.
The Beavers next action will be March 22 in Sartell, Minn. where they face Martin Luther College and University of Minnesota-Morris.
Nestled in Northern Minnesota’s wooded region and located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, Bemidji State University sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men’s and women’s hockey membership in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
